**MY TWO CENTS WORTH**

I had a wonderful time in Scottsdale this winter. We spent 6 weeks in the sunshine. I followed the MB weather frequently and I know you also had fabulous weather while we were gone. Seemed kind of silly running away from the warmest winter MB has had in a century. I am very happy to be home and riding Mercydes. Six weeks was a long time for me to be away from my own pony. Unfortunately she did not get to make the trip with me.  Maybe one day I can swing trailering her down there. My time in Arizona was spent horsing around. My next door neighbor was my dressage coach.  I walked over to her place every morning to check out was going on there for the day. I really enjoyed watching her coach. I part leased a nice chestnut Arabian mare at a barn close by. She was a patient and safe mount, well schooled in dressage, but she made me work for it.  My dressage coach owns a cute reining gelding. One afternoon we watched him compete at a National Reining Horse Show.  That was very cool watching all the spinning and sliding. The other horse event I took in was the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. I spent a couple days wondering the huge grounds of West World. I saw some beautiful horses and the shopping was great at the show!

Mercydes spent the winter at Superior Equestrian, near Oakbank. Thank you to all the staff and friends there for keeping an eye on her. It was sure nice being able to ride in their indoor arena when I went up to visit. She received the best of care, maybe too good; she's rather plump.  I trailered her home yesterday. She travels well. She gets a bit anxious if she is loaded alone. She'll dance on the spot but that stops once we are moving. I am looking forward to a great spring with loads of riding time. Isn't it great to have an early spring and not having to deal with icy footing.  Although I am a little concerned....one of my friends who lives 20 miles away posted on her Facebook this morning that her horses were covered in MOSQUITOES this morning. Guess it's time to put the bug spray out on the shelf in the tack shop.

flex freeFLEX FREE MAXIMUM STRENGTH by VITA FLEX: Introduced by Vita-Flex® in 1988, Flex Free® was the original chondroitin sulfate (CS) supplement for horses. Over the years we have watched many “copycat” products come and go, but Flex Free® has endured the test of time. Known and trusted throughout the world, Flex Free is known to deliver 1,750 mg of high-quality CS per ounce. Thanks to its quality ingredients and performance, Flex Free has become the standard for equine GAG supplementation. It is the original and still the best. Horses are subject to great wear-and-tear of the joints. Both can be characterized by the breakdown of the joint's cartilage, the part of the joint that cushions the ends of bones. Cartilage breakdown causes bones to rub against each other, causing swelling, pain and loss of movement. As the rate of swelling increases the breakdown of the cartilage also increases, causing a “vicious cycle.” Oral CS has been shown to reduce swelling in the equine joint, as well reducing certain protein markers in the synovial fluid, the fluid that acts as a shock absorber in the joints. Flex Free can help to break the vicious cycle, allowing your horses to resume a more normal and pain free life. Ingredients: Chondroitin sulfates. Recommended Feeding: Feed ½ scoop twice daily for 3 to 4 weeks. Reduce to 1/2 scoop daily for maintenance. To assure economical use, measure accurately and blend thoroughly with feed. Increase feeding of large breeds proportionately according to body weight in excess of 1,000 pounds. A serving scoop is included.

**Are Chondroitin Sulfates Absorbable? Studies over the past 40 years in Japan, the US and Europe have clearly shown that chondroitin sulfates can be absorbed in intact, biologically active form following oral administration. Using a variety of techniques with laboratory animals, dogs, and humans, researchers have found that up to 40% of dietary chondroitin sulfates can be absorbed into the bloodstream.
