I have enjoyed a lot of riding this past month. What incredible weather, no
bugs and open fields to romp in. I hope the month of October treats us to
more of the same. It gets a little tricky to get my riding in before dark.
Might have to run away from work in the afternoons during October. The
pastures are pretty much done. There is enough left to munch on to keep them
occupied. We are feeding hay in the morning and evening now. Lois was able
to get a nice hay crop off this year. We have some nice grass hay with just
a little bit of alfalfa to keep them interested. If you haven't lined up
your hay supply for the winter I'm thinking that should be a priority over
the next couple weeks. There are a couple hay suppliers listed in the
classifieds. My mare, Mercydes, is looking very healthy. She's shedding her
sunburned summer coat. The hot sunny summer really toasted her hair. She
looked like she'd been to the hair dressers to get copper highlights. Loving
the teddy bear fuzzy hair feeling as her winter hair grows in. Mercydes wore
a grazing muzzle for most of August. This really helped keep her weight in
check. This past week I've washed and packed up the fly sheets and taken
inventory of winter blankets. Speaking of winter blankets be sure to check
out some of the recent deals I was able to pick up off a suppliers clear out
list, they are listed below in New Items section. You might consider buying
some waterproofing spray to give last years winter blankets a fresh coating.

our second semi load from this supplier. We had glowing reports from our
