EDITORIAL CONTENT (MY TWO CENTS WORTH)
Manitobans have sure enjoyed some early
riding weather this spring. It's been
fabulous to get out riding in the warm
evenings. I have had some incredible
good fortune in April. I just picked up
a new mount from a new friend, Barry Dearle, from
Saskatoon. I am now the proud owner of
a very handsome grey 8 yr old purebred
SE (straight Egyptian) Arabian gelding.
Barry was kind enough to trailer him as
far as Moosomin. Shelley and I met him
there on Monday, April 26 . Shah Jamil,
which translates to beautiful prince, is
going to be boarded at my friend
Shelley's at Rathwell. He is settling
into his new home well. Hopefully within
this next week he will starting his
integration into his new herd. He's
going to be with two geldings that both
have strong play drives so he better be
ready to play hard. I'll be traveling
there soon so I can start to play with
him online and develop a relationship
with him. I am anxious to discover his
personality. So far my impressions are
that he has a gentle demeanor, he
has big dark kind eyes. My plan for him
this summer is to get lots of trail
riding in; get out there and have some
fun together. Mercydes will continue to
be #1 mount. I am really enjoying riding
her. As Mercydes gets more confident and
fit she is developing new sides to her
personality. She continues to be a very
safe mount. Mercydes is traveling up to
Elaine Banfield's later this week for
some training with her. I am planning to
get up there just after the long weekend
and ride her with Elaine. Really looking
forward to having my Schleese saddle fit
for her at the end of the month. Danny
Kroetch will be in Manitoba the same
weekend I am up at Elaine's. I have been
riding her in borrowed western saddles
up until now.
I've been busy this past week receiving
