SUE'S TACK SHOP NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2009- MORDEN HOME HARDWARE

EDITORIAL CONTENT (MY TWO CENTS WORTH)

August has been a great horse month.  I was able to get a fair amount riding in considering I had to keep the splint/brace on. It doesn't slow me down too much. I get it x-rayed the first week in September, keep your fingers crossed for me that I will be able to get rid of the brace and start some physio to get my strength back. Earlier in August Lois and I made a trip over to Karija Arabians for a tour. Hadn't been there for about 4 years. Michael proudly showed off his beautiful horses. He has an amazing facility down there at Emerson. Last weekend myself and 3 other horse friends enjoyed the Sunday afternoon show of the Lipizzaner Stallions on Aug 23. The highlight for me this month or maybe this year has been finding my DREAM HORSE. Sometimes things just fall in your lap and you have to act on them. I did not go searching far and wide for this horse she actually belongs to a dear friend. Thank you Evelyn for making my dream come true. "Mercydes" is a stunningly beautiful brown bay 6 yr old 15 hh purebred Arabian mare. Some of the Arabian enthusiasts might appreciate her bloodlines: First Cyte x Psyches Envy (x Padron’s Psyche).  Also a thank you goes to Shelley for allowing me to board her at her place. Sunday I had a wonderful ride on her, she has a very willing disposition.  This new horse adventure is going to be a blast, I am pumped! If you are on Facebook you can send me a friend request and see her pictures on my profile page in an album marked Mercydes.  If you aren't on Facebook and would like to see pictures just send me an email, I'd love to show her off.

I am a big fan of Jane Savoie. I have found her teaching aids very helpful. Morden is always a couple hours trailer ride to get coaching, Jane has become my online coach.   I have her Happy Horse series and it really is good for anyone right from the beginner. It is not just for dressage riders! Jane publishes a monthly newsletter that you should consider receiving http://www.janesavoie.com/ezine/issue17.html. Jane has an online presence in Dressage Mentor. For an affordable monthly fee you receive access to training videos and other helpful tips. Check out her membership site http://www.dressagementor.com/.  Please tell her I sent you.

**SECRET DEAL LIST**   I have a totally different subscriber's list that receive secret deals. Some months you will receive one or two deals; some months up to 5 or 6. I pass on hot deals that I get from my suppliers and I never know what is going to come my way. One of the secret deals in August was Panomec and Eqvalan Gold dewormers.  Sometimes there are monthly specials that suppliers offer or they are clearing out inventory. You will need high speed Internet service as these emails have pictures embedded in them. If you'd like to be on this list just drop me a note saying YES to suestackshop@mts.net

Here are a couple good articles I have come across this last month that you might also enjoy.
