EDITORIAL CONTENT (MY TWO CENTS WORTH)

April has been very disappointing weather wise.  Last year in mid April I was riding outside on dry ground.  I have been fortunate this April in that I have enjoyed riding in my friend Merelyn's indoor arena. Merelyn was kind enough to offer Frisko stabling at her place for the month of April.  It's been great getting to know him and riding on good footing. I bring him home to Morden this weekend. On our trip home to Morden we make a stop off in Wpg to get my Schleese saddle fitted for Frisko by Danny Kroetch.  I am really looking forward to riding him in the great outdoors.  Lois, where I board, has a nice big outdoor ring and the road allowance should be dry so we can enjoy some hacks down the road.  If all goes well we just might tackle a schooling dressage show the weekend of May 23/24 in Brandon.  He is such a pleasure to ride, he has such a lovely demeanor. Frisko is so good natured; puts up with me giving wrong cues and trying to sit his trot.  He never shows any physical signs of being PO'd with me.  Like many of you I am looking forward to some great riding weather this May. We are all itching to get on our horses and RIDE!

SUMMER HORSE CAMP: Lea Bank Equestrian Centre is once again having a summer day camp program. We are 20 minutes from Carman, 1/2 hr south of Wpg. July 6-10,  9 am to 4 pm. for kids ages 7-13. There is lots of riding time and lots of time spent with the horses. We do crafts (wood based projects), there is an 8 x 10 photo of your child and their horse, lots of games as well. $275./week, lunch is included.
