Murray and Sue Braun purchased the Macleods Hardware store in November of 1989. In 1992 Macleods went into receivership and True Value came in from the United States to take over. At that time Braun's True Value Hardware was born. On January 1, 2005, they made a decision to switch to Home Hardware. Situated in a small town of 7,000 in southern Manitoba, Canada, they operated a 6,000 square foot store until 1999. At that time a new 12,000 square foot store was built on the main highway through town and continues to thrive.
